It is a combination of history with a rich story told through people of strong character. I felt like I was living in the 1930s with all its challenges and rewards. It is a time in American history that was rich with meaning and hardship. I can strongly recommend the reading of all of the books in the series and I'M eagerly waiting for the next installment.
