About the Author Harry R. Anderson is a Ph.D. engineer/entrepreneur who has created businesses that develop software tools for designing and optimizing wireless networks. With his flight to Antarctica in 2014, he became only the fifth person to fly solo in a single-engine aircraft to all seven continents. Over four decades he has traveled to more than 70 countries, hitchhiked across Africa, worked on four continents, and lived in England and France. He resides on Bainbridge Island in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Anderson is also the author of Fixed Broadband Wireless System Design (John Wiley, 2003)

Unique travel adventure By Amazon Customer This is a different kind of solo travel story that mixes detailed pilot information about how to complete these flights with interested travel episodes and memories of the author who has traveled for many years and has a unique perspective on adventure travel. Includes 300 color photos that really help capture the experience of sitting in the cockpit of a small plane. The writing is a little uneven with some parts inherited from blogs while many other parts are better written and more entertaining - you almost feel like you're in the co-pilot's seat. The appendices have a lot of detail including a glossary of aviation terms used in the book - very helpful. Definitely recommended for pilots thinking of flying internationally and people who like international travel stories that go beyond the usual thing you see.
