It's basically a story about a young woman back in the 1800s, who meets a young man and how their relationship grows around a wild horse he caught and she tamed.

His descriptions of mountain trails, sagebrush and western topography allow the reader to be transported to America's frontier heritage. There is limited suspense in the developing romance between characters, but you always know that strong personalities prevail and good triumphs over evil. I enjoyed revisiting Wildfire on the Kindle.

By Lisa Cherry Beaumont To be transparent, I know the author personally and, as a helpful/nosy friend, I read through this book before she published it. As a former vegan (presently pescetarian - don't hate me, I wouldn't have believe it of myself two years ago) and a world traveler, I honestly couldn't imagine what anyone might be able to teach me about being vegan in a foreign country. I've done it, it's hard, what's to learn?Caitlin's book had me astonished at the phenomenally practical tips that I wish I'd had brought to my attention when I needed them. Resources it wouldn't have even entered my head to use (and in ways I wouldn't have thought of using them), simple, straight-forward steps you can take to make sure you don't find yourself wandering around the streets of Beijing, staring in horror at row upon row of barbecued birds on sticks wondering how the hell you're not going to starve to death and giving in and going to MacDonalds for the worst greasy, processed vegeburger you've ever had in your life. (Yes, that happened to me in 2008, and it doesn't have to be you.)If, like I did, you think there's probably nothing anyone can teach you about traveling as a vegan and that it's just a case of keeping a pack of peanuts in your hand luggage, Googling vegan restaurants and/or using the Happy Cow app and hoping for the best, this book will be a massive eye opener for you. It's also very funny to read some of Caitlin's anecdotes that are peppered through the book for entertainment value. Highly recommended.

When I first became vegan, I was astonished to find that it didn't ruin travel after all, and that in fact it made it about 100 times better! Wild man of the forest By Bomojaz From the silly to the not quite sublime, but certainly including the sensational, this novel is a forerunner (the first?) af all the Superman-like tales where the hero has a dual personality, one side portraying weakness the other super strength. Bloody Nathan on the one hand is a peace-loving Quaker who wouldn't hurt a fly; at other times he's the feared Jibbenainosay, a secretive, brutal killer of Indians in the Kentucky wilderness. Being Quaker, Nathan talks with the ever-present "thees" and "thous" in every sentence, which becomes somewhat comical after a while. But when he turns into the Nick of the Woods, he's the brutal slayer of all things Shawnee. His own family was murdered by Indians (thus the transformation), and when he finally avenges those murders, he disappears and is never heard from again. Very sensational with no holds barred, though Bird at times is too melodramatic and stilted. Sort of a classic of its kind. I liked it.

Baum tries Science Fiction, and Succeeds By A Customer Baum is usually known for his "American fairy tales," and the Master Key is an experiment in a new genre. Baum calls it "An Electrical Fairy Tale," and it really is part fairy tale. It reads like his other works, and flows very well. It is a great romp of fun, and the reader is pulled with the main character Rob into his numerous, wacky adventures. A great book for children.

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Great fantasy-adventure for young people By A Customer I first read this when I was 12 (back in 1948); loved the imaginative narration. Rob was my hero back then (even named my first son after him). As a youngster I could really get into the story and felt like I was in the story with Rob during his exciting adventures. I secretly thought that perhaps there was a "master key" and just maybe I could find it and go on adventures of my own.
