Weissel I very poetic approach to the rediscovery of an ancient Aboriginal travel route between the Mt Kosciuszko high country and the coast at Eden. Blay, an experienced bushwalker, is your guide to the Bundian Way. Through his perambulations, he uncovers evidence from artifacts which define the route. Over the past 230 years, activities such and land clearing for sheep and cattle grazing and the timber industry, have heavily overprinted the landscape making such evidence obscure. He ruminates on the role played by aboriginals in showing early white settlers and surveyors the route between the mountains and the sea. As a scientist, I pondered the question of why the Aboriginals chose the Bundian Way as the "best" way for them to travel between the coast and the high mountains. The Bundian way crosses some difficult terrain which I thought should be avoided by parties traveling on foot. In all, an intriguing if not totally convincing thesis on a key point of Aboriginal heritage in southeast Australia.
