When a wounded super-soldier staggers into treasure hunter Kip Keene’s office with classified documents confirming the existence of Atlantis, he and partner Samantha Strike quickly find themselves running from a shadowy organization hell-bent on keeping the mythical city’s terrible secret. An uncurable nano-virus of incredible power lies sealed beneath Atlantis’ protective dome, miles below the Mediterranean’s surface. But someone has brought the virus up from the depths. And with the hours ticking down before a global pandemic, Keene must travel across the globe to uncover the final resting place of a city long thought to be mere legend. But saving the world bears a steep price - and Keene might be forced to sacrifice the lives of his crew if the world is to survive. The Kip Keene series blends the fast-pace and exotic locales of adventure stories a la Indiana Jones & Clive Cussler with the mind-bending wonder of science fiction. NOTE: this is a standalone novel that can be fully enjoyed without reading any other Kip Keene books.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. The Ruby Rattlesnake was a good book. I hadn't read Book 1 By Rosadelinda The Ruby Rattlesnake was a good book. I hadn't read Book 1, so I was a little lost on a few things in the beginning, but as the book progressed I was able to catch on to the plot. I would recommend reading Book 1 before this one. I enjoyed the plot very much. It was fast moving, and kept me on the edge of my seat. There will be a Book 3, and I will be reading that, as well as finding Book 1 and catching up on what I missed :) The plot caught me by surprise, as it is a little sci-fi, and I was expecting more of an archaeological aspect judging from the cover, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the way it unfolded. I would definitely read this book again, and can't wait to get caught up on the rest of the series. I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review.

Dennie I was provided a complimentary copy of this book so that I could give an honest review.A delightful twist on the tale of Atlantis. This is a surprising interesting tale of riches, science, technology and greed. With the science of computer enhanced robotics occurring in this day and age, you may find yourself asking the question .... Are we taking advances in the wrong direction?

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A fun and lighthearted read. By Bookfan This is the second book in the Kip Keene series. Each book takes you on a new adventure that concludes when the book finishes so you’re not left wondering what happens next. Consequently you can read the book as a standalone but reading the previous books will provide you with useful background information, making it easier to understand the characters and references to past adventures. When a wounded super soldier going by the alias of Rabbit staggers into Kip Keene’s office and hands him a USB drive before she drifts out of consciousness, he is not sure what to think. As he examines the contents of the drive he discovers proof of the existence of the most elusive and mythical lost city of them all, Atlantis. Before this can fully sink in, Keene and his partner Samantha Strike find themselves on the run from the dubious organisation that originally uncovered the city and the secret of the powerful deadly virus buried beneath it. The organisation will stop at nothing to keep the secret hidden. However someone else has already taken the virus and is planning to release it. Before they know it Keene and his team find themselves in a race against time, to find the lost city and contain the disease. This is a typical action and adventure story. It is suspenseful and full of heroes with special abilities such as super strength and intelligence; people who miraculously outsmart and overpower their enemies. As some of the heroes appear to be from another planet this helps with the credibility of the story-line making their super powers more plausible. The plot provides an interesting take on the Atlantis legend. The writing was good. The story is fast paced and full of action from start to finish. Overall this is a fun and entertaining read, full of suspense and plenty of adventure.Review copy provided through StoryCartel in exchange for an honest review.
