Darien is a teenage girl living in New Orleans in an imperfect world. About the Author Emily McAdams is a seventeen year old student from Livingston, Texas. She began writing her first novel ideas in the eighth grade. Between Spaces: The Hectom's Dawn is her first novel. Her inspiration for writing comes from the love of reading and writing. In her spare time she enjoys playing volleyball and soccer, going mudding, hunting, singing, and drinking sweet tea. She lives with her mother, father, two older brothers, and her two dogs, Sandee Peaches and Avery Doo (named after her favorite cartoon, Scooby Doo).

She went on and on about how much she like the journey and the character, Darien. As she finished the book last night, she was excited to learn of the sequel in the making, Between Spaces: Temple of Enemies.
